Nokia is set to turn out to be a major beneficiary of Huawei being blocked from the UK’s 5G networks.

The Finnish telecoms business has struck a deal to come to be the major gear supplier to BT.

Nokia will now supply additional base stations and antennas to let EE customers’ equipment make calls and transmit data by means of the British isles firm’s 5G “radio access network”.

The deal will also see Nokia change Huawei in BT’s 2G and 4G networks.

EE’s community previously makes use of Nokia to supply its 3G provider.
