Leonardo DiCaprio is joining the many celebrities helping to fight the deadly brushfires in Australia.

On Thursday, DiCaprio’s environmental organization Earth Alliance released a statement saying it will donate $3 million to help wildfire relief efforts in the region as part of an “international response to the catastrophic bushfires.”

The devastating wildfires have so far led to 25 casualties, in addition to destroying 2,000 homes. Fueled by drought and the country’s hottest and driest year on record, the fires began back in September — months earlier than is typical for Australia’s annual wildfire season.

DiCaprio launched Earth Alliance last year to combat climate change and biodiversity loss. He co-chairs the organization alongside businesswoman and philanthropist Laurene Powell Jobs and investor and philanthropist Brian Sheth. The fund will work with local Australian partner organizations including Aussie Ark, Bush Heritage, and Wires Wildlife Rescue.

The Academy Award-winning actor joins an ever-growing group of celebrities who have come pledged big bucks as the blaze rages on. Australian actor and Avengers star Chris Hemsworth offered $1 million through social media earlier this week as did legendary singer Elton John. Pink, Nicole Kidman, and Keith Urban have donated as well. While Metallica has said they will donate $750,000 to a firefighting agency and emergency services agency in Victoria, and Fleabag star and creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge is set to auction off her Golden Globes outfit, giving the proceeds to firefighter relief.
