Jorge Masvidal wasn’t about to let Colby Covington’s comments slide.
Masvidal has made it clear that he thinks Covington sold out, and was using him all along. The two are former training partners at American Top Team, as well as former roommates.
Covington challenges UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman on Saturday at UFC 245 and continued to trash Masvidal during fight week, referring to him as “Journeyman Jorge” and “Street Judas.”
Masvidal has lashed out at Covington by digging up some past memories from their early days at ATT.
Remember when I used to let you sleep on the couch? #hitemup you were crying cause those Brazilian girls punked you and I put you on. I fed you, clothed you and you sold out for 7 likes sad that’s all you got for a title fight. 13th disciple is a bitch #theresurrection

Remember when your ass got tried on south beach and me and Ike had to save your ass from some real goons fucking you up? When tibau whooped your ass so hard in sparring and you came crying to me asking if it’s ok to be scared like a bitch? #thecrucifixion

With Masvidal having a remarkable 2019, and in the running for “Fighter of the Year,” he and Covington could cross paths should things go Covington’s way Saturday in what could have the makings of a massive grudge match.
UFC 245 takes place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN2 and early prelims on UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.
