Ya boys are back and planning more shenanigans.
A fourth Jackass movie is officially on the calendar at Paramount Pictures. The studio scheduled the film, which is based on MTV’s stunt- and prank-heavy reality series that premiered in 2000, for release on March 5, 2021.
Jackass: The Movie arrived in 2002, followed by Jackass Number Two in 2006 and Jackass 3D in 2010. All three were helmed by Jeff Tremaine, who co-created Jackass with Johnny Knoxville and Spike Jonze.
Knoxville branched off after that with 2015’s Bad Grandpa, which Tremaine also directed. That film saw the prankster dressed up in prosthetics as an old man punking people with his pretend grandson.
Should all the original cast members reunite, it would be their first time in a Jackass movie since the death of cast member Ryan Dunn, who died in a car crash in 2011.
In 2018, Knoxville said another movie was “possible.” “It’s not like we’re saying no,” he told EW. “If we did do a new one, we’d have to bring in some new younger guys — just to bring some fresh blood into it. But it’s possible… I still write ideas down, just in case I get that twitch again,” he said. “We’re sitting on a ton of new ideas. There was so many that we didn’t get to shoot for Jackass 3. We have more ideas than we could shoot for Jackass 4, I’ll tell you that.”
This past July, Steve “Steve-O” Glover told rock music website Loudwire in an interview that Jackass 4 was ultimately up to Knoxville, Tremaine, and Jonze.

“Knoxville, for some reason, just wasn’t up for it and then there’s the health of certain people which I think is a concern, as well,” he said. “And, of course, there’s our age. Maybe that ship has sailed. But I can’t say with certainty that I feel that way anymore.”
“I don’t know what’s gonna happen, but I do know that we’re approaching the 20-year anniversary of when Jackass first came out on MTV and I do know that there’s an urge, an idea to commemorate that anniversary in some way,” Steve-O continued. “It could be small, it could be big.”
