The RAF has a fleet of about 60 Chinook helicopters in procedure

A Chinook helicopter was forced to make an unplanned landing on Carmarthenshire farmland, Ministry of Defence officers have confirmed.

The MoD said the incident occurred on Tuesday evening in close proximity to Llangynin, and the twin-engine aircraft crew experienced “small injuries”.

A suspect “wire strike” is considered to be dependable for the major-lifting helicopter coming down in the spot.

Military chiefs explained the Chinook was on a instruction work out at the time.
