Animal welfare campaigners have criticised the decision to exempt grouse shoots from Covid restrictions limiting gatherings to 6 persons.
Scottish charity OneKind said wildlife had “thrived” through the lockdown, but was now becoming “shot for enjoyment”.

Scottish Land and Estates, an organisation representing estate owners and land administrators, explained state sporting activities had been “unfairly singled” out for criticism.
